On October 1 and 2, the 17th International Bioenergy Congress and the 4th Renewable Gas Fair took place, both professional events organized by the Spanish Biomass Association (AVEBIOM) with the support of the Spanish Biogas Association (AEBIG). These meetings brought together companies from 19 different countries across Europe, America, and Asia. Part of the Ingenium team attended with the aim of deepening their knowledge in the field of renewable gases, thus reaffirming the company’s commitment to innovation and sustainability.
Among the attendees were key figures in the sector, such as Javier Díaz, president of AVEBIOM, and Luis Puchades, president of AEBIG. Together with other experts and representatives from the administration of Valladolid, including Alejandro Pellitero, the city councilor for the Environment, they discussed current issues related to the social acceptance of biogas plants. All agreed on the necessity of making an effort to understand the residents of municipalities in order to demonstrate that renewable gases are an excellent solution for the decarbonization of the economy, always in compliance with the relevant local regulations.
Biogas technology is well established in other countries, where thousands of plants generate local employment and environmental benefits from waste management. For this sector to effectively consolidate in Spain, a joint effort between companies and public administrations will be necessary to ensure excellence in installations and actively promote the positive impact of these on our society.
